Why do I keep getting an error "There is a problem with the format, parameters, or data of the request" when I select my ElevenLabs voice?

mayo 04, 2026

Issue Summary

TD Snap is designed to filter ElevenLabs voices, allowing users to select only those that utilize the Multilingual v2 model. This is intended to prevent compatibility issues before they occur. However, if a user encounters an unknown compatibility conflict or a synchronization error with a selected voice, TD Snap will display the following message:

"There is a problem with the format, parameters, or data of the request."

If you see this message, it typically indicates that the voice being requested does not meet the current model requirements of the application.

How to Verify Voice Compatibility

To determine if your chosen voice is using the required model, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your account at ElevenLabs.

  2. In the left-hand navigation menu, select Voices.

  3. Click on the My Voices tab.

  4. Mouseover (hover) your cursor over the specific voice you wish to use.

  5. A dialog box will appear showing the supported models.

    • Compatible: If there is a checkmark next to Multilingual v2, the voice will work in TD Snap/TD Talk.

    • Incompatible: If Multilingual v2 is not listed or checked, the voice will trigger the authentication error.

Recommended Action

If your preferred voice does not support the Multilingual v2 model:

  • Contact ElevenLabs Support: Reach out to ElevenLabs directly to request that the specific voice be made available using the Multilingual v2 model.

  • Alternative Voices: In the interim, you may select a different voice from the ElevenLabs library that already has the Multilingual v2 checkmark.

Current Status

Tobii Dynavox is aware of this limitation and is actively working on a software resolution to expand model compatibility. Please ensure your TD Snap or TD Talk applications are kept up to date to receive future fixes.
