How to configure switches for Grid 3 on an EM-12

Switches can be used for both Gaze Interaction and Scanning. The switches must be plugged into the device and set up as “Keyboard” keys.

Set up a switch in Grid 3

1. In Grid 3, select the Menu bar
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Access.
4. Select Switches
5. Select Connection
6. Select the drop-down menu and choose Keyboard.
7. Select Switch 1 in the list.
8.  Select Change Key
9. Activate the switch that is plugged into Switch Port 1. The menu will close and return to the list of switches. Switch 1 will now read “F13.”

Note: If a second switch needs to be set up, follow the same steps above but use the switch plugged into Switch Port 2 in step 9

1.  In Grid 3, select the Menu bar.
2.  Select Settings.
3. Select Access.
4. Select Eye Gaze.
5. Select the Activate drop-down menu.
6. Select Press switch to click.
7.  Select the drop-down menu and choose Switch 1 from the list.
